Paul told his audience, “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant.” Phil. 2: 5-7 At Trinity Chapel Academy, part of our focus is for our students to be the servant leaders that God has called them to be. In the past 2 years, we have seen our students step up and prove that they are indeed following the example of our Lord Jesus Christ. In the fall of 2009, when the floods came, we organized 2 teams to go to the aid of several TCA families. Students as well as teachers gave up their Saturday to shovel mud and clean debris from flooded homes. Our students have participated in Toys for Tots for the past 4 years. Last summer a group of students went to Guatemala to serve alongside a missionary there- working in an orphanage and bringing food and supplies to people who literally live in a dump. Another group of students will be heading back in June to continue this ministry. The High School Student Government led a collection drive for the Anderson Mill Health and Rehab Center in Austell. Members of the Praise Band and several students delivered the goodies to the center and stayed for a time of worship with the residents. Our Praise Band went to Destiny International Church to lead a youth rally. Our talented students lead the congregation in a great time of praise and worship. Our students are involved in many ways- locally and even internationally. Each student is encouraged to find ways to serve- either as part of a group or individually. As they follow the example of Jesus, they in turn set the example for those who will follow after them.
